Particulars of information required: Please furnish the following information as to whether any law in any nomenclature viz., Notification, Circular, Public Notice, Standing Order etc. which are in force as on date, has/have been issued by the Central Board of Excise and Customs, New Delhi or the jurisdictional Commissioner of Customs in your Zone in respect of (a) to (f) below. If so, please supply a copy for each one of them. I shall pay the cost for making copies on getting information from you.
(a) Who (various designations) are the officers assigned with functions to be performed under the Customs Act, 1962 as ‘Proper Officer’ as defined under Section 2 (34) of the Customs Act, 1962.
(b) Who (various designations) are the officers designated as ‘such other class of officers of customs’ as may be appointed under Section 3 (f) of the Customs Act, 1962.
(c) Who (various designations) are the officers of customs empowered by the jurisdictional Commissioner of Customs under Section 107 of the Customs Act, 1962 to examine any person acquainted with the facts of the case or require to produce any document relevant to enquiry.
(d) Who (various designations) are the officers of customs empowered by the jurisdictional Commissioner of Customs under Section 104 of the Customs Act, 1962 to arrest persons who are believed to have committed the offence punishable under the Customs Act, 1962.
(e) Who (various designations) are the officers of customs designated as ‘Gazetted Officers of Customs’ as mentioned in Section 108 of the Customs Act, 1962.
(f) Who (various designations) are the officers of customs appointed vide Section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 in the jurisdiction of the respective Commissioner of Customs.
